Xtrend Exhaustion

Exhaustion means price reaches the edge of the book, but the remaining liquidity there has become too thin or too weak. In simple customer language: the attacking side may be running out of fuel, or the edge is no longer strongly defended.

Bid exhaustion Selling reaches the bid, but the bid left there is very small.
Ask exhaustion Buying reaches the ask, but the ask left there is very small.
Trading meaning The current push may be tiring, thinning out, or losing follow-through.

What the customer should understand first

Exhaustion is the opposite feel of absorption. Absorption means meaningful size is still holding. Exhaustion means the edge size has dried up.

Not a strong wall

Exhaustion is not about a big defender. It is about a weak remaining edge after price reaches it.

More internal than visual

In this setup, exhaustion is mainly a BM trade signal and filter. It is not meant to behave like a long horizontal wall line.

Best customer wording

Use phrases like: “the move is getting tired” or “the edge liquidity is becoming thin.”

How Xtrend detects exhaustion

This is the simple logic behind the signal.

1

Price trades into the edge

A real trade reaches the current best ask or current best bid.

2

Remaining edge size is small

The visible liquidity still sitting there is low instead of strong.

3

Size is under the cap

If that remaining size is at or below the exhaustion threshold, Xtrend treats it as exhaustion.

4

Strategy filters noise

The strategy can also require a minimum floor so ultra-tiny random prints do not become low-quality signals.

Customer reading: if buyers keep trading into 7566.25 but only a very small ask remains there, Xtrend can read that as ask exhaustion.

Bid exhaustion vs ask exhaustion

Both are exhaustion, but each one appears on a different side of the book.

Bid exhaustion

Selling reaches the bid, but the bid left there is small and weak rather than strongly defended.

Typical meaning: the downside push may be tiring out.

Ask exhaustion

Buying reaches the ask, but the ask left there is small and weak rather than strongly defended.

Typical meaning: the upside push may be tiring out.

Exhaustion vs absorption

This is the most important distinction for customers.

Exhaustion

The edge size is small. Liquidity looks thin, tired, or weak at the point of attack.

Idea: not much defense is left there.

Absorption

The edge size is still meaningful. Pressure keeps hitting it, but it continues to hold.

Idea: a passive defender is still present.

What each exhaustion setting means

These are the main customer-facing controls for exhaustion.

Use BM Exhaustion

Turn exhaustion trading on or off

If this is off, the strategy ignores exhaustion even when the indicator internally detects it.

Threshold

The maximum remaining size allowed

For exhaustion, this acts like an upper cap. The edge liquidity must be small enough to fit under this value.

Lower = stricter, thinner only Higher = easier to trigger
Minimum

The lowest size still considered usable

This blocks extremely tiny random values. It tells the strategy that the edge can be weak, but not so tiny that it becomes useless noise.

Lower = allows thinner signals Higher = removes more weak noise
The easiest way to explain the two numbers is this: Threshold = the top of the allowed range, Minimum = the bottom of the allowed range. In customer language, exhaustion lives in a weak-size zone between those two values.

Simple example

This makes the threshold and minimum much easier to understand.

Example settings

Threshold = 20
Minimum = 10

Then Xtrend is roughly looking for remaining edge size in the 10 to 20 area.

How customers should read it

Above 20 is not exhausted enough. Below 10 may be too weak or too noisy. Between them is the useful exhaustion zone.

When the strategy is more likely to trust exhaustion

These are the situations customers usually understand best.

Push looks tired Price reaches the edge, but the remaining queue looks thin and no longer strong enough to keep driving the move.
Small but not random The edge size is weak enough to matter, but not so tiny that it is just meaningless noise.
Better with context Exhaustion usually reads better near local extremes than in the middle of messy rotation.

Easy customer reading

If you want to explain exhaustion in one sentence, use one of these:

Bid exhaustion Selling reached the bid, but the remaining bid liquidity was thin, showing the downside push may be tiring out.
Ask exhaustion Buying reached the ask, but the remaining ask liquidity was thin, showing the upside push may be tiring out.
Customer use Lower threshold means stricter exhaustion. A higher minimum removes ultra-thin noise and keeps cleaner signals.
